Clause H1 - Energy Efficiency (A bit of History)

An Uninsulated house

A huge amount of heat is lost through roofs, walls, floors and windows of an uninsulated or under insulated house. A minimum requirement for insulation of roofs, walls and floors have been part of the building code since the late 1970s. These minimum requirements have now been increased and window glazing has been included

The main change to the Building Code, Clause H1.3.2, is an increase in the stringency of the Building Performance Index (BPI), a refinement of the definition and the clarification of climate zones.
