Acceptable Solution H1/AS1
The Acceptable Solution H1/AS1 is the least complicated and most accepted method in showing compliance with H1.
This course will focus on the Acceptable Solution H1/AS1 and focus on Table 2(b) in the NZBC Clause H1 Energy Efficiency - Third Edition page 26, where the benefits of Thermal Mass is considered in conjunction with good passive design to increase comfort and reduce energy use.

Table 2(b) above clearly states that in order to use the R-Values mentioned the thermal mass must be accessible and if any additional insulation is required, this insulation must be installed on the outside of the wall.
