Changes to H1 (Energy efficiency provisions) and benefits of Insulating Thermal Mass

Description:

This course covers clause H1 (Energy efficiency provisions) in the New Zealand Building Code. The focus is on the Acceptable Solution H1/AS1 for Solid construction, looking at the best ways to insulate masonry homes utilising the thermal mass properties of concrete construction.

Learning Objective:

  1. To get a better understanding of the Clause H1 - Energy Efficiency
  2. To get a better understanding of the requirements of H1
  3. To use Acceptable Solution H1/AS1 to achieve the requirements of H1 for Solid Construction
  4. To understand how thermal mass works and the benefits of it (Thermal Mass vs. Insulation)
  5. To understand the thermal properties of Graphex and how it works
  6. To understand the Eco-efficiency of Graphex as an insulating product
  7. To understand the Graphex Overlay system and how it works
  8. How to detail Graphex as an overlay onto a concrete construction
